When I started making natural skincare for my Mum, my friends and my family, I wanted to create products that I would be genuinely proud to share with others. That meant choosing quality ingredients, taking care over every detail and never compromising simply because it was cheaper or easier.
Those principles have guided every decision I've made since.
Over the years, like for all of us in life, the cost of almost everything involved in creating my products has increased.
Ingredients have become more expensive. Posting and packaging costs have risen. Energy, manufacturing and transport have all changed dramatically.
You don't need me to tell you that—we've all felt it.
What you may not know is that, throughout those years, I've chosen to absorb as much of those increases as I possibly could. I believe that keeping our prices stable was one way of thanking our customers for the trust you've placed in me and my organic skincare.
I am very proud to say that for almost a decade now, I have been able to do that.
But there comes a point when the continued absorbing of rising costs means something else has to give.
For me, that would only ever mean one thing: compromising on quality. That isn't a path I am willing to take.
Every ingredient I choose, every product I create and every parcel Lee wraps and sends reflects the standard we set for ourselves from the very beginning. Those standards matter to us just as much today as they did when we packed our very first order.
Rather than from now on quietly reducing the quality of ingredients; or making changes that customers might not notice straight away, I'd much rather be open about the decision I've had to make. A modest price increase allows me to continue making my products in exactly the way I believe they should be made—with love, care, integrity and attention to every detail.
So I wanted to give you plenty of notice.
My current prices will remain until Tue 1st September... so if there are any of your favourite skincare products you'd like to replenish before then, you'll still have the opportunity to do so!
More than anything, though, this felt like the right moment to say thank you.
Over the years Lee and I have been fortunate enough to build something much more valuable than a customer list. We've built a community of people who appreciate the artisanal approach, the quality of product and the genuine care I take with each and every one of my customers and their skin.
Some of you have been with us almost from the beginning. Others have only recently found us. That support has never been taken for granted.
But however long you've been part of our journey, you've helped shape this little business into what it is today - and I am very excited about the future!
Although our prices will change slightly, the values behind everything we do will not. We'll continue to make products we're proud of, continue to source with care and continue to treat every order as though it were being sent to a friend.
