Who doesn’t love a Christmas party? Canapes, mince pies, dressing up, a bit of a boogie, a late night (even on a school night) and one too many festive tipples. All good fun at the time, but the morning after the night before can take its toll on our skin, not just our heads.
So here’s my (from experience!) natural skincare xmas survival guide which doesn’t involve missing out on the festive fun and will leave you and your skin feeling less ‘urgghh’ and more ‘ahhhh’ in the morning.
Xmas Party Survival Tip #1
Easier said than done but try, try, try not to go to bed with your make-up still on. Chances are you’ll find time to brush your teeth before falling into bed so whilst you’re in the bathroom, a few extra minutes cleansing will make all the difference to the way your skin looks and feels in the morning. Sweet Cheeks is a non-foaming face wash that rinses off easily and quickly with warm water without drying out your skin.
Xmas Party Survival Tip #2
Follow with a glass of water and a few drops of Bloom & Glow natural facial oil and your skin will thank you even more. Come morning, your skin will look and feel a little like its normal self.
Xmas Party Survival Tip #3
When that alarm goes off after a late night it can be hard to drag yourself from your oh so cosy, duvet. Help is at hand with Rise & Shine natural body wash. This gentle shower gel is kind to your skin and the invigorating blend of natural & organic essential oils can help put a Zebedee-esque spring in your step.
Xmas Party Survival Tip #4
Hungover skin equals dehydrated, dull and tired looking skin so slather on the Thirsty Work in the morning. As its name suggests, this is great for helping to rehydrate your skin thanks to skin saviour hyaluronic acid, nourishing and repairing rosehip, raspberry, chia seed and argan. Your dehydrated skin will soak up this rich and nourishing cream and will look brighter and healthier than its thirsty former self.
Xmas Party Survival Tip #5
Getting through the day is made easier with Freshen Up. This (non-alcoholic) cocktail contains all the ingredients to refresh, hydrate and perk you up. Whether It’s a mid-morning bout of nausea, or an after lunch energy slump, a simple spritz of Freshen Up provides instant refreshment and hydration.
