It's that time of the year where pumpkins enter our lives - whether it be a carved pumpkin for your windows or front porches - or you may be partial to pumpkin soup, pumpkin pie or roast pumpkin seeds.

But one thing you might not know is this... pumpkin seeds are absolutely brilliant for our skin.

Pumpkin seed oil is an important raw material for our skin thanks to its many skincare benefits. This wonderful oil (preferably chose one that is organic) is an ingredient to look out when you are shopping for anti-ageing skincare products or natural and organic skincare products.

I have been using it myself in my own personal skincare recipes for for years now - as well as using pumpkin seeds oil to make my firming and toning face serum, a little lift; and also in my rich, nourishing and repairing night balm, rest & regenerate.

Pumpkin Seed Oil is especially beneficial for dry skin, mature skin, damaged skin and skin that is losing its elasticity.

Pumpkin Seed Oil is rich in vitamins and minerals including Vitamin A, Beta-Carotene, Vitamin B, Potassium, Magnesium and of significant interest, it is also high in Zinc.

It is also rich in essential fatty acids – omegas 3, 6 and 9 and so its benefits in skincare are numerous. These essential fatty acids help keep our skin soft, supple and can help improve elasticity. They can also help repair damaged skin and have regenerating properties.

Due to Pumpkin’s high level of zinc, the oil has a lifting effect and can really improve your skin’s elasticity especially when it is combined with Mullein – another of nature’s wrinkle warriors.

Mullein can help hydrated our skin and has good moisturising properties and above all, it contains high levels of elastin so when both these raw materials are used together, they can really help improve our skin’s elasticity.

So be sure to treat your skin this Halloween - and all year round - with skincare products with pumpkin seed oil.

And remember, Pumpkins aren’t just for Halloween… make them a daily treat for your skin too.
