Cordelia from Somerset's Skincare Story

I caught up with long time customer and friend, Cordelia from Somerset.

I first met Cordelia just after being on Masterchef, when the local cookery school asked if I would become a teacher for them. Cordelia was there to help me and we remained friends ever since.

As well as working at the cookery school, Cordelia helps on the family farm - as well as becoming a diving instructor in Iceland - so her skin has taken a bit of a battering!

This is Cordelia's very own Skincare Story...

How long have you been using my products for and how did you come across them?

I think it’s about 9 years now!  I tried the sample kit after meeting you when you did a cookery demonstration where I was working.

Did you have any particular skin conditions or concerns at the time?

I think my skin combination at the time, with regular breakouts….kind of embarrassing when you’re in your forties!  I was self conscious about it and it definitely wasn’t my best feature.  I guess I would say my skin is quite fussy.

Have any of my products helped improve things? If they have, please can you explain how.

Definitely.  I started off with Sweet Cheeks and Balancing Act and I’ve not had any breakouts since, over time I’ve added in the facial oils, Rest & Regenerate, Angel Eyes and Look On The Bright Side and my skin is more balanced, even toned and glowing!  This in turn makes me feel better and really impacts my self confidence in a positive way.

When I lived in Iceland your products saved my skin. Always Sweet Cheeks.  I ran out once and tried a really good Icelandic brand but noticed the difference and stocked up the next time I was home, making sure I was never without again!  Working outside my skin was dry and often red at the end of the day due to wind burn, the cold and the sun; Thirsty Work and Rest and Regenerate were my go to products, keeping my English rose complexion happy.

What products do you use and how do you use them – if you have a routine I’d love to hear about it

I’m a bit lazy so no long drawn out routines for me!  I don’t generally wear makeup so I keep it simple.  In the evening I use Sweet Cheeks followed by A Little Lift.  What follows depends on how I feel and how my skin feels.  Most of the time I follow up with a few drops of either Balanced & Beautiful or Repair & Renew, sometimes following with one pump of Balancing Act.  When I’ve been out in the weather and my skin is feeling dry I love using a little Rest & Regenerate, my skin looks amazing in the morning.  Several times a week I use Angel Eyes, it’s great when my eyes are feeling dry and/or tired, I should probably use it more as it definitely works.

In the morning, a quick wake up wash with Sweet Cheeks, then A Little Lift followed by a few drops of either Bloom & Glow or Balanced & Beautiful (to look awake!) with Balancing Act if I feel my face needs it.  When I have time and think of it I enjoy using Look On The Bright Side mixed with whatever I feel my skin needs …… I really should do this more regularly!

To freshen up or cool my face I use a spritz of Freshen Up.  When I wear mascara and if there’s any left by night time I remove it with I Can See Clearly Now.

When I have time I use Look On The Bright Side, but I should use it more.

What is your favourite product and why?

Hmm, this is a tough one and I’m not sure I can answer it with just a single product.  I love them all, my skin is so much better than it ever was before.  I was recently without A Little Lift for a month or so and I have to say it noticed and I won't be without it again!! I love the face oils, they mean I confidently go out without a scrap of makeup on but after a day in the sun, severe weather or out scuba diving I always go for Rest & Regenerate and my skin is glowing (in a good way) in the morning.

Do you have any skincare tips you would like to share?

Drink lots of water and use Angela Langford Skincare!

Is there anything you would like me to change or anything I can do to improve things?

I’m trying to be more ‘Green’ so refillable / non plastic packaging would be perfect but I realise this isn’t that easy or cost effective.

Is there a product that you think is missing from my range?

Lip balm!  My lips get so dry and the only thing I’ve found that works is the Blue Lagoon Lip Balm in Iceland but I’m not there any more and I’ve nearly run out.

Why do you love Angela Langford skincare?

Because my skin does.  It’s never looked so good, plus I love the personal touch Angela gives, sending a message and samples with every order.  The products are natural, organic, good value and I’m supporting a small, (used to be local but not so much any more!) British company.  Angela and Lee are genuinely lovely people!
